Impact Measurement in Research Projects: Comparative Case Study with IMPACTp Software
Main Article Content
Abstract
The system of indicators for predicting, designing, and measuring the impact of research projects is of great importance for meeting the information needs of decision-makers and contributes to strengthening local management. It is a very useful tool for professors and researchers developing research projects. Its implementation begins with an intervention in completed research projects, and the impact of the short-, medium-, and long-term objectives can also be measured. To facilitate the use of the indicators, software was designed that allows users to input data. This enables them to determine which indicators should be used to achieve impact when preparing a project, and also to evaluate the impact of completed projects. Its objective is to provide researchers, professors, and technicians involved in research projects with an easy-to-use tool that allows for the assessment of impacts through the use of indicators at different stages of scientific research projects. In other words, it allows for the estimated quantification of the lasting change expected to be produced in the scientific, technological, economic, social, and environmental spheres. To compare the results as a guide, method, or procedure for the qualitative and quantitative analysis and evaluation of the outcomes, the system of indicators for predicting, designing, and measuring the impact of research projects and the IMPACTp software will be used.
