Abstract

The inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities demands the participation of educational agents from educational institutions, the family and the community. In response to this purpose, these agents in the province of Mayabeque show limitations in their performance, expressed in the act of attributing the fundamental educational and inclusive responsibility to the school, the delay in decision-making and the disarticulation between the actions that they undertake favor of people with intellectual disabilities. The identification of these needs and the search for answers gave rise to the project Socio-educational inclusion of children, adolescents and young people with intellectual disabilities. A participation of all. Participatory Action Research was used as a methodology. The determined objective sought to contribute through educational scientific activity to the preparation of educational agents in intersectoral, interinstitutional and interdisciplinary management to achieve quality inclusion in this population group. Its actions were aimed at diagnosis, awareness and training of these agents. In this regard, indicators were determined to assess the training of educational agents, strategies, brochures and other materials were prepared. The possibilities of contributing to the change of these products were verified through the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate research, its socialization in events and publications, and the impact of university extension activities. The Final Evaluation of the Project carried out by experts from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cuba valued the scientific rigor of the results and their possibilities of generalization.
