History
The Journal of Knowledge Management and Local Development (RGCDL) was launched in 2014. Its first issue, for the only time, was available in two versions: print and digital. Managed by the Center for Agrarian and Rural Development Studies (CEDAR) of the Agrarian University of Havana (UNAH), it was published annually until 2017. In its first phase, its main topics were knowledge management and local development, food security, the environment, human development, science, and technological innovation. The accepted formats were: research article, review article, short communication, and thesis abstract. In 2018, following the resizing of CEDAR, the Center for Development Management Studies (CEGED) emerged. The publication expanded its thematic spectrum, in line with the new missions of its sponsoring entity, and entered its second phase. It is defined as a social sciences journal, with ISSN: 2707-8973, which continues to prioritize the emergence of research related to knowledge management in support of local/territorial development understood in its political, economic, social, cultural, technological, and environmental dimensions. Also of interest are analyses related to human development, food security and sovereignty, education for sustainable development, the environment, and the policies, programs, and projects associated with these. The expansion of existing formats added to the already usual ones research articles , review articles , short communications and thesis summaries , the event summary and the Points of View and Rereadings sections in order to broaden the authorship range to which the journal is aimed. Until 2023 it appears quarterly. From 2024 it resumes the annual frequency with a Continuous Publication System (Rolling Pass). Submitted manuscripts are approved after complying with the requirements of a blind peer review process. The RGCDL is an open access publication under the CC Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0) that does not establish costs for processing, publication, or embargo period.
