Abstract
Se realiza un análisis de la importancia de cosechar arroz en secano, dadas las actuales y perspectivas limitaciones de disponibilidad de agua, lo que trae en consecuencia el desarrollo vertiginoso de malezas que compiten con el cultivo y que constituyen el problema a solucionar. Se realiza la selección del método mecánico, como el más efectivo y económico, para la eliminación de malezas. De lo anterior se concreta el objetivo del presente trabajo que consiste en determinar algunas propiedades físico - mecánicas de las plantas de arroz de la variedad IA Cuba 29, que se definen por los parámetros morfológicos, para diferentes regímenes de riego. Los resultados permiten concluir que dispone de las dimensiones de ancho, altura y diámetro de plantón de las plantas y la zona de trabajo de los elementos mecánicos a diseñar.
