Minimum tillage system and allelopathic effect on common beans productions in Agricultural Enterprise April 19 of the Mayabeque province

Abstract

Changes in production practices, as from conventional tillage to minimum tillage, might affect allelopathic interactions between different crops residues below the Cuban productions systems. Field experiments were conducted on t ypical Red Fer ralitic soil in the Agricult ural Enter prise April 19, of municipalit y Quivicán, Mayabeque province, Cuba, during t wo years. The objective was: to evaluate the influence of minimum tillage systems and the allelopathic effects on the common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris, L) productions cv Tomeguín 93-N. The residues were sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batata, L) cv CEMSA 78- 354, cor n (Zea mays, L) cv. Francisco, sunflowers (Helianthus annus, L)cv Cuba-Sol and commom beans (Phaseolus vulgaris, L)cv Tomeguín 93-N. These residues were incorporated into the soil a ration to 0, 3  k g  m . The treatments st udy objects were the result of the four vegetables residues incor porated and the control the treatments were ar ranged and the random block with four replicas. The obser vations and deter minations were: sur vival of the plants (reduction percentage), yield (t ha 2), and analyze of cost and crops common beans utility. The results indicated the negative influence of minimum tillage systems in the survival of the plants and yield of common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris, L) cv Tomeguin 93- N as consequence the allelopathic effects of such residues.
