Prototipo compactador de forraje

Abstract
Uno de los problemas que enfrenta la ganadería en México es la escasez de alimento en la temporada de sequía. El ensilado es una de las actividades que soluciona ésta problemática. Para este fin se diseñó y construyó en el Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica Agrícola de la Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, un prototipo para el compactado del forraje previamente picado. El dispositivo consiste de un rodillo que gira a 7 rev/min dentro de un recipiente de forma cilíndrica de acero. Las capas a compactar son de aproximadamente 15 cm de espesor. Una vez de que el material es compactado se abre lateralmente el recipiente aflojando una serie de tornillos y se envuelve el material compactado con plástico. El rodillo se eleva y baja mediante un aparejo. Se requiere de dos personas para operar el equipo. La capacidad del equipo es de 4,26 m3/h (3,2 t/h).
